Summary:

 

The individual in this position serves as the liaison between Inventory Control and key business functions within Russell Stover, with the purpose of providing effective documentation and analysis to assigned business partners within the company.  Responsibilities include cycle count analysis, reducing and analyzing excess inventory, reporting, ensuring the integrity of the inventory through systems, monitoring and improving procedures, and to communicate issues and recommendations to management.

This position, by ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, is responsible for running, developing, implementing, a safe and high-quality inventory plan at the lowest possible cost. They must act a Continuous Improvement change agent, always looking for opportunities to improve business outcomes. 

Scope of Responsibilities:

Warehousing / Inventory Management

 

  • Perform research to resolve inventory errors to allow Accounting to complete the daily order invoicing process.
  • Timely reconciliation of all stock transfers and receipts to include co-packers, co-manufacturers and 3rd Party Warehouses.
  • Coordinate and oversee the item hold process between the Russell Stover QA department and the factory.
  • Conduct direct inventory management activities with all factory warehouses by facilitating daily, on-going communication.
  • Reconcile inventory, research inventory discrepancies, and cycle count adjustments. 
  • Monitor First in First Out movement and identify aging/excess inventory. 
  • Work with Sales and Production Department to address root cause and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Provide analysis of open Purchase Order report to ensure all POs are received and closed in a timely fashion using the SAP system.
  • Processes disposition request forms for damage write offs and submit to management for approval.
  • Establish, schedule and maintain a structured cycle count process for finished, raw, and semi-finished products, which insures consistent execution, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Identify and analyze inventory variances and acquire necessary explanations to identify root cause and to provide corrective actions and follow up to ensure corrective actions are being performed.
  • Develop, drive and facilitate meetings and reports that will provide internal departments with meaningful information required to make decisions and effectively deal with excess inventory issues. Maintain the storage and integrity of inventory transaction files by branch/plant in compliance with LICS
  • Partner with key members of the Recall Team providing Track & Trace data and related analysis in a timely manner.
  • Provide feedback to all internal factory warehouses to analyze and reduce causes of OS&D and modifying SOP’s as necessary. Analyze and direct most cost efficient and appropriate disposition of over and damaged inventory, partnering with procurement to execute.
  • Reconciliation Process (Inventory accuracy) 
  • Develop and review and Audit Master data monthly as it pertains to inventory reporting and item master information.
  • Responsible to promote and assure data integrity and reporting is accurate to support management’s strategy.
  • Partner with and provide daily support and audit of manufacturing and warehouses to ensure proper procedures are being followed and all transactions are being conducted, to maintain the inventory integrity of all aspects of the business.
  • Partner with the Finance manager as gate keeper for item obsolescence process and analysis of component materials.

 

 

Overall

  • Identify process improvement opportunities.  Clearly outline and gain alignment for implementation of process improvements, while driving results.
  • Work cross functionally (Co-packing, Planning, Accounting, Sales, Marketing and Production) to improve cross-functional business processes and resolve recurring problems.
  • Participate in Logistics departmental meetings aimed to accomplish department goals.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses as requested by management.
  • Cross train and perform back up duties for Inventory Deployment
  • Insure data integrity across all system modules.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities, gain alignment for implementation and drive results.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and five years of experience or equivalent combination of education and or experience
  • 3 to 5 years of inventory management
  • Strong working knowledge of 3rd party logistics management preferred.
