Description

Position Summary:

The Continuous Improvement Manager works in a collaborative manner with Engineering, Production Planning, Human Resources, EH&S, Finance, Logistics, Procurement and Quality.

Mission is built on the following main characteristics:

  • To be Operational Support, by:
    • Ensuring focus on the top priorities (utilizations / costs / losses / savings)
    • Challenging the other functions in operations striving for top performance
  • To lead change and relentless performance improvement through our Lindt Production Way (LPW) Operational Excellence/TPM Program execution
  • To continuously improve the organization by supporting performance driven people development


Job Responsibilities:

Operational support

  • Ensure the factory focus is on top priorities
    • Measure performance and prioritize losses: Resources Utilization, Bottlenecks, Transformation Cost, Production Variances, Delivery and Productivity.
    • Organize and present data to make decisions that drive change and improve performance with all levels of Operations management.
    • Have control and use performance-tracking systems to monitor and take actions on manufacturing performance.
    • Work with Corp. Industrial Performance Manager and site management team to determine objectives and strategy for the production department; translate agreed strategies into production team and individual goals, activities and deliverables.
    • Own, use, spread and teach loss eradication & reduction methods.
    • Frequently review the operational standards: waste, rework, over usage, labor, routings, nominal speeds, OEE, Technical Efficiency.
    • Own manufacturing standards database.
    • Create the gap importing best practices from other departments, plants, companies.

Change & Improvement management

  • Lindt Production Way (LPW) leadership
    • Support the Plant manager with the strategy deployment.
    • Define and manage the LPW medium/short term masterplan of the plant
    • Assess the quality and the speed of LPW with Corp. IP Manager.
    • Support the Pillar Leaders for the correct application of the methodology.
    • Coordinate and give support to the Local Steering Committee.
    • Be the local key user of the LPW toolkit.
    • Interface with RSC Corporate Industrial Performance

Knowledge Management & People Development Support

    • Promote the exchange of information, good and best practices.
    • Ensure that training is effectively provided throughout all level of operations organization.
    • Build, maintain and improve the level of Industrial Performance expertise in the factory. Train key functions on LPW methodology.
