Position Summary:
Lindt & Sprüngli (North America) Inc. is seeking an individual with high energy to help drive and sustain positive change in our dedicated and private fleet within our domestic transportation department.  Successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of drivers and scheduling pick up and deliveries to customers and vendors, monitoring driver daily logs for errors or violations, and equipment availability at all locations.  The candidate will also need to create efficiencies to reduce cost of transportation while still maintaining on-time deliveries.

This position requires strong communication, planning, and multi-tasking skills to effectively manage the fleet and loads to remain as cost-effective as possible for the company.  Candidate must have strong skills in customer shipments, refrigerated transportation, appointment setting, routings for plants and DC's, as well as DOT regulations to maintain compliance.

Essential Functions:

  • Understanding of supply chain relationships
  • Ability to manage 25+ drivers and provide direction to keep cost down
  • Effective communication with customers, drivers, and vendors
  • Investigates schedule delays, accidents, equipment failures and complaints
  • Analyzes and processes load movements for efficiency
  • Completion of special tasks or projects as assigned
  • Updates TMS with truck routings, ETA, and departure times
  • Creates a daily dispatch sheet for all moves
  • Helps maintain DOT documentation

Job Requirements: Basic Qualifications
  • College degree or 5 years of transportation/logistics experience
  • Knowledge of refrigerated transportation, both private fleet and truckload
  • Understanding / awareness of DOT regulations
  • Basic mathematic skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Working knowledge of Transportation Management System (TMS)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in Excel
