Description


Working with the Sales Strategy and Customer Development Manager, the Sales Strategy and Customer Development Analyst is responsible for leveraging data to create, implement, deploy and monitor go-to-market sales strategies. This is a highly cross-functional role, working collaboratively with the Brand Marketing, Supply Chain, Production & Demand Planning, Revenue Generation Management, Sales Finance, Innovation, Category Management, Retail Operations and Field Sales teams.

This role is highly visible and interacts with much of the rest of the company. It is an excellent opportunity for career growth, for that reason. The department serves as the process and detail partners for the needs of wholesale sales, as well as the needs of Russell Stover Chocolates at large.

Focused on Brand and globally aligned retail promotions strategies to enable commercial sales teams’ success, the Brand and Retail strategies are focused on the “Perfect Store” approach. Perfect Store encompasses principles and guidelines around Shelf, Traffic, Adjacencies, Registers & Seasons. The Analyst is expected to create and maintain tools for reporting and analysis in support of these strategies.

What Does a Day look like for a Sales Strategy and Customer Development Analyst?

In the morning, you meet with a Brand Manager on how his/her new product development timeline is tracking to completion while fielding questions regarding which retailers are likely carry the product and, how we will advise it to be displayed on shelf. You leave the meeting needing to analyze syndicated data to quantify answers. Next, you’re updating historical shipment data in a Sales Playbook tool. Before lunch, you’re meeting with the Sales Strategy Manager about building slides to clearly visualize complex data insights of promotional programs for an upcoming leadership meeting. After lunch, you’re joining the Grocery Team’s weekly call to provide feedback and updates about a new process to follow. Before finishing the day, you’re last meeting is with a fellow Sales Strategy Analyst on a playbook improvement project, set to launch in post-Christmas sales planning meetings with the account management team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to analyze current go-to-market sales strategies and make recommendations for change, based on data
  • Create and deploy Sales Playbook/Sales Materials for Field Sales execution
  • Communicate results across the business effectively
  • Leverage available tools and processes while seeking ways (projects) to deliver continual improvements (better, faster) which deliver best in class results

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2 years of business analytics experience within CPG wholesale sales or marketing.
  • Bachelors' degree
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience using syndicated and panel data (IRI, NPD, Nielsen, Numerator, Kantar)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of business analytics experience preferably in Sales, Marketing or Category Management

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Up to 10% travel
  • Hybrid Hub & Home policy (60% office, 40% work from home)
