Position Description

The Warehouse Manager for Lindt & Sprüngli (North America) Inc. (LSNA) will be responsible for overseeing 3 warehouse facilities managed by 3rd Party Logistics Service Providers as well as selected company operated facilities.   Responsibility includes all functions of warehouse supplier management including overseeing processes and process improvement for receiving, picking, shipping, quality assurance, tracking, product management, and product placement.  This position will also be responsible for budget achievement, performance, and improvement of safety, quality, cost, and service. 

This position will be based in Kansas City, MO and will require 25% domestic travel

Essential functions of this role include:

  • Oversees the inventory control activities for 3 LSNA warehouses managed by 3PLs and 3 company managed warehouses
  • Manages the monthly warehousing accrual process for the 3 LSNA warehouses managed by 3PLs and 3 company managed warehouses
  • Coordinates monthly and yearly capacity allocations for 3PL warehouses with both the internal LSNA team and our Brands
  • Manages, tracks, measures, and reviews key performance metrics with 3PLs based on agreed upon targets
  • Leads daily, weekly, and monthly 3PLs' reviews to insure providers are meeting all negotiated agreements and terms.  Initiates corrective action plans as appropriate
  • Directs the activities for continuous improvement in quality, costs, waste, and training
  • Analyzes material handling and storage problems and provides methods for solving problems to assure improved customer fulfillment
  • Responsible for insuring efficiency and accuracy objectives are met for both the department and individuals in the department
  • Responsible for cross-functional communications and interaction to resolve problems and enhance business processes
  • Works with the Inventory Analyst to insure all Brand required inventory transactions are maintained, including customer holds, quality holds, and inventory analysis
  • Coordinates with the LSNA Transportation team and 3PLs to build seasonal shipping processes and plans
  • Partners with RSC Warehouse Management group to ensure proper allocation and utilization of 5c chamber
  • Coordinates with RSC and 3PLs to improve efficiencies in Direct to Store Delivery (DSD) operations
  • Coordinates with Internal LSNA team and Brands to improve efficiencies and standardization in Ecommerce
  • Coordinates with LSNA Procurement to select outside suppliers to manage monthly warehouse services including HVAC maintenance, pest control, uniforms, etc.
  • Plans, develops, and implements warehouse safety and security programs and activities
  • Researches and recommends new warehouse management systems for an overhaul of current operations

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years' work experience as a warehouse manager
  • Industry knowledge of food manufacturing regulations and guidelines
  • Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
  • Leadership skills and ability to manage staff
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration
  • Experience in inventory control and processes
  • Experience in warehouse process flow, design, and optimization
  • Experience in supply planning and APICS certification
  • Highly proficient in ERP systems such as SAP, JDE, as well as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
