Russell Stover seeks an accomplished and experienced Senior Director Plant Operations to help lead our manufacturing operations on a journey of transformational change and operational excellence.  Reporting to the Vice-President of Operations, this position is a key role within the Operations Leadership Team and a member of the Russell Stover multi-functional Extended Leadership Team.

In this role, you will be the operational expert responsible providing leadership and oversight for Russell Stover’s three food manufacturing plants with more than 2,000 employees.  The Senior Director will ensure plants achieve all production goals while maintaining high standards for quality, food safety with the goal of continuous improvement across all facets of the operation.

You will be responsible for managing all resources related to production in our three large manufacturing sites in Kansas and Texas.  This includes ensuring our products are manufactured in the quantities required according to production planning, within the designated timeframes and at the most efficient cost without compromising high standards for safety and quality.

  • Ensure comprehensive safety programs are in place and effectively executed.
  • Lead the manufacturing staff in three plants to optimize people, machinery, and capacity. 
  • Establish and maintain an organized system, optimize processes and methods to ensure maximum and reliable output, increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Develops mid-term plans and initiates strategic projects related to it. 
  • Fully understands and manages the manufacturing P&L.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with functional support departments.
  • Effectively communicate company goals and plans to employees within the organization.


  • Minimum 8+ years proven leadership in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a process oriented, food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with SAP in a manufacturing environment. 
  • 5+ years food/quality/safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience leading a multi-plant organization preferred. 
  • Proven experience in continuous improvement using lean tools (5S, TPM, Six Sigma or similar)
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, food science or business administration with an advanced degree preferred.
